Some outstanding results for our junior students.......

During Term 3 several students entered both the Great Kiwi Mathematics Competition and the Australian Mathematics Competition. Both are online problem-solving competitions where the students have one hour to complete the questions.

This year we had some outstanding results. In particular, Luke Hay 9GSS gained distinction in the Kiwi Mathematics Competition placing him in the top 0.5% of Year 9 students who entered and High Distinction in the Australian Mathematics Competition placing him in the top 3% of his year group.

In the Kiwi competition other students to do very well were Hector Diamante and Ella Rickard who both scored in the top 25% of Year 9 students.

In the Australian Mathematics Competition Jacob Swan, Steven Harris and Ella Rickard all gained Distinction scoring in the top 20% of their respective year groups.

Only very capable students enter these competitions which makes the results even more impressive
