Te Tihi o Kahukura Heathcote Valley School —

What an incredible two days of learning our Year 7 & 8 tamariki had at our recent techfest! From Sheros to Swag Bags, Microbits to Minecraft, Garageband to Greenscreen and much much more.

This year saw a revamp of our annual Aupaki Techfest with a new location, Tūranga Library, and a new conference-style format. A huge thank you to Emma Planicka (Digital Learning PLD) and Anna Granger (Sumner School) for the vision, leaderhsip and mahi that brought this event and learning a reality.

After the swag bags were explored, tamariki broke into three groups to learn an important pūrākau of Ngāti Wheke; Tūterakiwhanoa, Te Rākaihautū, or Tamatea Pōkai Whenua. Over the two days, tamariki participated in four workshops where they were using new IT tools to go deeper with an aspect of their pūrākau. You can check out the workshops and finished projects on the Aupaki Techfest Website, and through the video below.
