Mr Rodger Wins National Award for Excellence in Teaching!
We are incredibly proud of Mr Rodger, a teacher and Team Leader at our school, who has won this award.
Mr Levings, Mr Rodger and Mr Rodger's Dad flew to Wellington to be part of a prestigious ceremony being held at the Beehive on Friday 22nd February. As you know, we announced in assembly last week that Mr Rodger had won the Regional Award, and today we have the great honour to announce that he is one of only a small handful of recipients to have won the National Award across New Zealand!
These awards are being presented in the Beehive by the Minister of Education as well as a number of other specially invited guests. I know Mr Levings is not only incredibly proud but excited to be with Mr Rodger, but to be going to the Beehive too. Apparently, Mr Levings said he has never been to a ceremony in the Beehive. I know for everyone attending it will be a very special occasion and precious memory for them all.
Avonhead School is an incredibly special place to be a part of and this just reminds us all about our amazing place, amazing staff, incredible students and supportive whānau. That's why we all love it here at Avonhead School.
Growing Excellence Together "Pike ake te tihi ngā tahi"!
Congratulations Mr Rodger - we are very proud!
