Purchasing uniform items
You have some choice of clothing items you can purchase for your children.
Uniform items are available at The Warehouse, 265 Blenheim Road Ph 348 6500 and Mainland Uniforms@Ilam (Ex Grasshopper) 405A Ilam Rd, Fendalton, Christchurch, Phone 351-7666. You can buy uniform on-line from Mainland by going to their website: www.mainlanduniforms.co.nz.
The clothing listed below can be worn in the summer and/or winter. Eg, some children prefer to wear shorts all year round and this is perfectly acceptable.
Please name all your children’s clothing. We are amazed at the amount of unclaimed clothing we gather at the end of the year.
In all cases, the uniform that has our logo must not be substituted for some generic ‘look alike’ clothing without a logo.

Hair accessories should be minimal in nature (no large hair accessories) and preferably in school colours.
Sun Protection
Like all other schools, we have a sun policy. You know that NZ and Australia have the highest melanoma rates in the world from excessive exposure to Ultraviolet radiation resulting in skin cancers in later life. We know that sunburn risk is the highest in summer, specifically terms one and four. For this reason, sun hats are compulsory in Terms 1 and 4.
Sun hats cannot be caps or any other hat but our school hats in our school colours. Make sure the hats are well named. Using a twink pen to write your child’s name on the inside of the hat is a good idea. Bucket hats are available through school at the cost price of $10—available from the Library Learning Centre or from Postie Plus or Grasshopper.
