Year 7/8 School Camp Term 1- 2021
Review of Year 7/8 Camp by Stephanie T, a Year 8 student.
On Tuesday the 23rd of March, Team ⅞ went on their biennial camp trip to Hanmer Springs. After weeks of anxious preparation (with Mrs Busfield asking her class for help with measuring food preparation) it was finally time to set off.
With many fun activities (such as: mountain biking, tree climbing, weed busting, and initiatives, a team building activity) we all enjoyed ourselves but were totally exhausted by the end of the day, which was probably the teachers’ goal, let’s be honest. The pools that we got to visit at the end of the day were a big plus. The hydroslides were a big attraction and a ton of us loved them. With tons of screaming, laughing, and shouts of glee, the pools were a wonderful part of our camp. Then we’d walk home, eat dinner, get ready for bed, and fall onto our beds, already half-asleep.
Many thanks to the teachers for preparing the camp, and to the parent helpers, who gave up their time to come supervise the children. We were so lucky to have the parents with us, as they did so much, from supervising the activity groups, to running the kitchen (those mashed potatoes were The Best!), providing first aid, and driving some of us to and from places when we couldn’t walk there ourselves.
Below you’ll see a compilation of pictures that we took on camp, please enjoy looking at them:
