From the Board
Board News - Term 2, 2024
With Term 2 coming to a close, it is my pleasure to update families on what the Board of Trustees has been up to this term. As you may be aware, the Board meets once a month to oversee finance and property management, health and safety, policies and procedures, and monitoring and evaluating student achievement. This term we have met three times.
Roof Project
This term saw the start of our roofing project. A number of roof areas around the school are due for maintenance or replacement. Earlier this term saw the library and the learning support roofing work complete. Over the coming school holidays we will see the replacement of Room 1, Room 27 and Room 28’s roofing. The maintenance of Room 11 and 12’s roofing will be completed in the October school holidays.
Teletubby Hill
We are aware of the damage to the Turf and Tunnel area, also known as the Teletubby Hill, in the Junior Playground. The repair work for this area has been approved and will be completed in the spring, once the ground is a little drier.
Year 7/8 Ventilation Upgrade
Over the April school holidays, a new door and windows were added to the Year 7/8 block to help improve the ventilation, as well as access to the block. These upgrades have been greatly appreciated by the senior students and have had a very positive impact, particularly the door!
Extra Staging
We have approved the purchase of extra staging to compliment the current staging we have. This will be at a slightly lower level and give us more flexibility. We were hopeful it would arrive in time for the Music Soiree and the Year 4 production, however it should arrive any time now. This staging will be a great asset and will get well utilised during concerts, productions and other performances.
Finally, I would like to say a huge thanks on behalf of the Board for the hard work from our dedicated staff this term. It really is a privilege to work alongside this team. They so often go above and beyond for our amazing students and community. The Team 5/6 teachers commitment to fundraising to decrease the cost of camp this year is a testament to this.
Have a fun and safe holiday break.
