Avonhead had 3 teams competing in the Otago Daily Times Extra Spelling Quiz.

On 7th June we had three Year 7/8 teams competing in the Otago Daily Times Extra! Spelling Quiz. There were 65 teams from all over Christchurch and Canterbury. All three teams did admirably, however Avonhead 1 (Ben Guo, Aden Li and Emma Malins) did particularly well....winning the quiz! After 10 rounds, they were tied with five other teams on 97/100. On the third tie breaker, all the other teams failed to spell veterinarians correctly. Avonhead 1, or more correctly Aden Li, was the only team who successfully spelt it correctly.
