Risingholme Concert with our Choir 30.11.17

Vicki Lewis —

The Risingholme Orchestra and our school choir entertained students in Years 5 to 8 with their musical expertise.

On Thursday morning our Year 5 - 8 students were treated to a special concert put on by the Risingholme Orchestra. The  Risingholme Orchestra are a group of retired musicians who come together to share their love of music. Their 93 year old trumpet player is testimony to the fact that music is a skill and interest you can have for a life time.

One of the highlights was out school choir who performed with them during the concert conducted by Mr Levings. Our students were exemplary in listening respectfully and many students took up the opportunity afterwards to chat to some of the musicians afterwards and try out their hand at one of the instruments.

A huge thank you to the Risingholme Orchestra and Mr Levings for organising this.

Also, a reminder that our orchestra auditions are being held on Monday afternoon, so if you have a child in Y4 - Y8 who is leanring music - encourage them to try out. This is again a wonderful opportunity so give it a go!
