Room 26 - Year 7 & 8 Lunch Box Challenge.
By: Rupert Jones R26
Recently Room 26 has been learning about food hygiene. We had to work in teams and create a litter free, healthy & culturally diverse lunchbox. Then we had to get all the recipes & ingredients and on Thursday of week 10 we had to make all the things for our lunchboxes and present to Mrs Lewis who was our judge.
To begin with we learned about kitchen safety & how to keep ourselves safe while working with food. We have also been learning about high risk foods and the causes of food poisoning. We also had to work on being organised so we could get all the prep done and we had to work on our presentation skills so it didn’t just taste good but also looked good.
We had to make sensible choices so that they are good for the environment and our health. In the end there were a whole lot of different styles of food from Spanish to Japanese.
Below are some photo's as evidence of our learning.
