This term Year 7/8 have been writing and presenting speeches on a variety of topics. We held our school speech competition a few weeks ago with some very talented speakers taking the stage.

Claudia and Georgia went on to represent Avonhead at the Riccarton Rotary speech competition where they presented their speeches with 6 other students at each year level in front of a panel of judges and an audience. Claudia's speech was on why books are better than movies, and Georgia spoke about weird etiquette rules that don't make sense. We are really proud of the way they spoke, and they both received book vouchers from the Riccarton Rotary club for their efforts.
