Gateway is all about learning on the job, gaining work experience and Unit standard credits towards NCEA, testing a career idea, making workplace connections and learning new skills.

Students choose a career to learn more about. They are placed in a workplace with staff who can support them with their learning. Gateway students gain on average 20 NZQA Unit standard credits towards NCEA which are assessed on the job and on short courses. Gateway is free and can be done during or outside school time.

Gateway 2022 saw thirty-six keen rangatahi working in a variety of businesses around the city in careers of their choices.
