Understanding Special Assessment Conditions Supper Evening

AGHS —

On Wednesday June 16 Angela Dye Hayes, Kirsty Clark and Katrina Boxall will be sharing their knowledge about the use of Readers, Writers, Computers and Extra Time in External and Internal Assessments. At least 10% of the population are estimated to have some challenges with getting meaning off the page or getting their thoughts into the written word and that is what the Special Assessment Conditions (SAC) are in place to help. It is the expectation that these SACs will reduce the barrier between your young person achieving their best potential in assessments.

The evening will cover what these SACs are and how they work. We will also discuss other ways family can help their young person to use technology to read aloud and dictate work for them, among other strategies.

If your young person has a Special Assessment Condition or they haven’t, and you want to find out more about it, please register your intention to attend with kboxall@avonside.school.nz
