Uniform Update

AGHS —

Read below for amended uniform rules

The Board of Trustees has recently amended our uniform rules around facial piercings, and it is now permissible for girls to wear a small discreet nose stud. Please note rings in the nose are not permitted.

School uniform rules change from time to time in recognition of changing practice in the community. The increasing prevalence of nose piercings among young people and acceptance of that fashion, has resulted in our request to the Board to reconsider our stance on this.

We ask you to please reinforce our uniform rules with your daughter. They are copied below.

The Board of Trustees requires Avonside students to be in full regulation uniform. We encourage girls to take pride in their appearance and ask parents to support the school in seeing that their daughter maintains a neat, clean standard of dress. Only the stated uniform is permitted. Students may wear any combination of the items below. All items need to be purchased from the Uniform Group to ensure they are the correct school uniform – substitutions are not acceptable.
