Arts Week

AGHS —

With so many disruptions to arts activities and events this year, the Arts Council was determined to make the school's annual ‘Arts Week’ a success. They wanted to create a week of fun activities that students could get involved in and celebrate the Arts. Due to some slick advertising around the school, student participation was high this year. Students danced away in the dark on Monday in the small theatre. There were so many students getting involved that we ran out of glow sticks!

A highlight of the week was the staff vs student Theatre Sports competition on Tuesday lunchtime. The small theatre was packed out and the competition was fierce. The staff team performed with energy and skill but were pipped at the post during a ‘Moo Off’ by the student team. Well done to the staff and students involved in this wonderful event.

Wednesday saw an Arts based Kahoot and Friday saw students belting out Karaoke songs in the small theatre. Overall, the Arts Council was really well organised and the events ran smoothly, apart from weather impacting on the Chalk Art event on Thursday. It was really good to see lots of students participate in these lunchtime activities. The energy and positivity created a positive atmosphere and fun was had by all who got involved.
