This was the inaugural year of the Avonside Pride Council.

Pride Council is the public and political face for our LGBTQI+ school community. The Pride Council was led this year by Elizabeth Webb and Ace Shaw. The Pride Council is a team of enthusiastic ākonga who are dedicated to empowering LGBTQI+ ākonga and educating our school community about diversity and inclusion. 

Throughout the year the Pride Council has been active in holding events throughout Pride Week, providing professional development workshops for staff, organised a stall for Gala Day and advocating for the use of correct pronouns and gender neutral class greetings.
