Assembly Reminders
Tanya Clegg - June 23, 2023
Please ensure that you reinforce these reminders about assembly with your ako class.
There is an assembly Wednesday P3 W1 of T3. This is a very important assembly as it is our Matariki assembly.
Assemblies are about who we are as a kura. They are representative of our school mauri. They show us standing tall and belonging (Kia Tu), show manaaki for others, celebrate those who show bravery (maia) and determination (manawanui) as well as those who are our leaders in the school (rangatira). They are who we are as a kura.
Unfortunately:
Our last assembly, behaviour was poor from a number of students.
Some reminders of our expectations in assembly
- Students do not talk during assembly
- We sit in ako groups in assigned pou areas. Ako teachers sit/stand with their classes
- Uniform is correct to enter, bags are left in classrooms and cellphones are off and unseen
- We stand respectfully for Karakia and Waitata and participate appropriately.
- We wait to be dismissed while continuing our respectful behaviour.
Please keep in mind these expectations for assembly on Wedndesday.
