A group of 17 students and 2 teachers spent the first week of the holidays on an ecology field trip at Ecoquest Educational Foundation, Whakatīwai on the side of the Firth of Thames.

They joined in a huge range of activities learning about the local flora and fauna, such as our native bats, freshwater fish, invertebrates and trees. It did seem to involve a lot of time in or near water, but luckily the sun shone for us!

There was a focus on sustainability throughout the week, with a lot of learning, discussion and laughter. Thanks to Ecoquest for a great week.
