Congratulations to Sarah James who at the Canterbury Athletics Awards won the Para Athlete of the Year!

Sarah has had an exceptional year and her results reflect that. 

• National Secondary Schools Para (All new Secondary school records)
  • 100m - 1st
  • 200m - 1st
  • 400m - 1st
• South Island Champs (mixed class women)
  • 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m - 1st
• NZ Senior Nationals mixed class Para
  • 100m - 3rd
  • 200m - 3rd
  • 400m - 1st
  • 800m - 2nd
  • 1500m - 2nd
• Holder of NZ Senior Womens T53 records in the 100m, 200m and 800m
• Completed her first half marathon at Ruapuna raceway in 1hr 26m
• Competed in the Christchurch Marathon 10k - 1st place in 35m

We are exceptionally proud of her results and the effort she has put in this year. Sarah continuously tries to better herself and is always up for the challenge.
