Put on your dancing shoes and lets get ready to launch into a combined Avonside Girls' and Shirley Boys' High School musical in 2021. The production of ‘Footloose’ got underway this year. Auditions were held, roles appointed and rehearsals in full throttle when Covid hit globally. Both schools decided it was prudent to cancel the musical rather than forge ahead under a cloud of uncertainty. While this was devastating to the cast, and in particular the year 13 students, the response was totally understandable and warranted. However, now we are starting the process of bringing the musical back to life in 2021! Students will be given the opportunity to audition for some roles in the first few weeks of term 1 next year and rehearsals will get underway by week 5, term 1. The performance week has been set as term 2, week 4, so put this in your diary and watch out for exciting information as things get underway.
