OFF-SITE VOCATIONAL: SECONDARY TERTIARY PATHWAYS

AGHS —

Dual enrolment opportunities provide Year 12 and 13 students with positive transitions to further education, training or work by attending courses outside of school.

A dual enrolment or secondary tertiary pathway (STP) programme is a connection between a tertiary institution and a school. These courses operate for one or two days a week and are trades- based, practical and relevant to students’ learning pathways. For a two day course, students will have one subject option less on their school timetable. See Shoshy Perchig in the Careers Office for more information or email sperchig@avonside.school.nz

Students can also apply to do Gateway during the year, which is an extended work placement with approximately 20 level 2 or 3 credits. It is not a subject but works around a student’s existing timetable. See Nina Campbell, the Gateway Coordinator, in the Careers Office if you want know more, or email ncampbell@avonside.school.nz
