Past students versus current students!

In a spectacle that weaved together the past, present and future of Avonside Basketball, our Senior A Basketball team played an exhibition game against a team of past Avonside Senior A players on Tuesday 21 June. It was a highly competitive game with stand out performances by current Avonsiders Isa Swart and Ella Costley with string support by Rimu Matsumoto, Ava Costley, Paina Briggs, Olivia Mutch and Tyler Limmer.

Among our past students were US University scholarship players Brooklyn Pouwhare and Molly Cockburn as well as Otago Womens rugby player Bella Digby, Elijah Pocklington, Emerson Pirker, Ky’a Belworthy, Cynthia Patea, Fuatai Lai Kong, Lauren Bonner, Hayley Forster, Daisy Shrimpton, Phoebe Taylor and Zara Detmar. The was also a lot of support on the sidelines with about 20 other past students enjoying the opportunity to catch up and watch the game. It was a fun night with some great basketball being played.
