Pina Lissaman —

From formal, to leavers gear, to leavers breakfast and then finally to graduation.

2022 has been a year of stops and starts but it was great for the Social Council to have the Year 13 Formal to focus on. The team lead by Anise Armstrong and Izzy Morritt, spent hours planning, throwing out ideas, tossing out others, internet searches, and who even knew that there was multiple shades of green and purple...the team did! As with any event there were jobs, jobs and more jobs and then there are meetings and chats, sometimes late at night. In the end the team decided on the theme of "In the Night Garden". This consisted of fairy lights, pontoon lights, backdrops, arches, dried flowers, vines, candles and more. We had venue visits, Year 12 helpers on the night, and parents helping with set up. The venue looked fabulous and the team had many compliments. It was a success and everyone had a great night.

Next job for the team was leavers gear. Putting out surveys, order forms, sizing, trying things on, what looked good, what didn't, last minute changes and last minute ordering, we were all part of the planning journey.

Leavers breakfast was set up by the crew of teachers with the social council helping out with decorations. This morning breakfast is a special event for our Year 13's to say goodbye before exams and eat breakfast prepared by our teachers. Mrs Gina Langridge had the mammoth task of preparing food, getting flowers, setting up and making sure it went smoothly. It was lovely.

Lastly we have our graduation reception coming up very soon. Well done to the Social Council for making the year special.
