Ako Week 8
This week's focus is quite split with a lot happening in ako time. The key focus is about vitality. Eat, Sleep and Move!
Short ako
Please remember there is a short ako powerpoint which leads in to the ako work for the week. It's in the handbook.
Please also ensure you go through the powerpoint in there from Caite Mitchell. Caite is planning a charity fundraiser and there are important planning details in her powerpoint.
On Wednesday for long ako:
Y13 students are to go to the theatre for the Youth Law assembly.
Y9 and 12 go to Ako time and do the normal ako programme for the majority of ako time (powerpoint in handbook).
However, some classes may wish to go out to the field to interact with the NZDF Helicopter so please see that article for details. That is optional, and must only happen for classes that can be supervised effectively.
The focus for this week and the rest of term is vitality. Particularly this week, the focus is on sleep. Sleep is an area that comes up every year as a huge issue for our young people. They simply don't get enough. We are looking at that in ako for the next week, and there are some interesting articles here if you wish to read further/more in-depth.
