Q: When our tamariki/child does tests or assessments, we think they will need extra support or certain conditions to be able to show what they know. What do we do next?
A: We will complete some tests with ākonga to see if they meet the NCEA thresholds for exam assistance. These are done at school and take a total of two hours.
Exam assistance can be:
- Use of a computer
- Separate Accommodation
- Rest Breaks
- Reader
- Writer
- Extra time
Testing does not usually begin until Year 9, Term 4.
