Design and Technology Department Fashion Show

AGHS —

Avonside Girls' entrance was filled with applause as students cheered on models and designers from the Design and Technology Department as Year 10 to year 13 students walked the runway wearing clothes from the school’s creative designers. Year 13 students modelled their ethical, sustainable slow fashion garments that they made for their context in 2021.

Photos below show the following students showcasing their work:

First we have Year 13 students, Maroj Patapat (left) in her jacket and jeans, with Eilyn Parker in a cotton underdress and organza overlay. Anya Hogan in her cotton dungarees and Kassie Muir wearing her stunning linen trousers. Anya and Kassie have both gained entry to Massey University in Wellington where they will continue to study design.

Year 10 students, Nicole Kim (green dress), Kate Harden (purple dress) and Zoe Langley (pink dress) wowed the crowd with their stunning evening dresses that they made this year along with a range of other garments.

Year 11 students showcasing their talent were Nikita modelling her own design of stunning green trousers with a stylish blue top to match. Alyssa Nesbit- Bills in her black streetwear dress and Bement in a yellow dress which is part of a collection made by Ella Erickson.

Wearable Art was also showcased with Year 12 students presenting their interpretation of nature. The garment below (last picture) is work by Eva Rendle and depicts Metamorphosis, with the chrysalis top and butterflies released below.
