Wellbeing Council

Kelly Shadbolt —

This year the Wellbeing Council took part in lots of fun activities.

We held Breakfast Club every morning at 8am in the canteen, where students could come down and enjoy our breakfast that was donated to us by Sanitarium and the friendly team at Fresh Choice Parklands. Thank you very much for the donations, we really appreciate them. We took part in our School’s Gala Day, where we promoted the gift of giving compliments. When you picked a compliment out of the jar you had to write a new compliment for someone else to receive, we also created some fun with guessing the number of jellybeans in the jar. The Wellbeing Council ran a Wellbeing Week filled with lots of activities to get everyone involved and help to focus on our Hauora. We took part in Pink Shirt Day, which is a day where we celebrated being upstanders; everyone came dressed in pink to support the anti-bullying cause. We celebrated this day down at our local Primary School, where we had a fun day spending time with the children and running events such as bubble blowing, chalk drawing and a photo booth with our pink day frame.

On behalf of the Wellbeing Council, I would just want to say a big thanks to everyone who came along and got involved in our events, and of course to the Wellbeing Council for all their help this year and making all the activities happen. Much arohanui.
