Three ex-students competed in this year's Commonwealth Games

Three Avonside past students are currently competing at the Commonwealth Games in England. Tayla Ford, who won a Bronze medal at the 2014 Games is back in action for her third Commonwealth Games competing in the Women's Freestyle 68kg division at 4am on Sunday morning. Also competing in her third Games is Black Sticks Hockey co-captain and all-time leading goal scorer Olivia Merry with finals also on this weekend. Finally, Hayley Jenson is also competing in the Commonwealth Games for the White Ferns cricket team. Hayley took an impressive 3 wickets for only 5 runs against Sri Lanka to put her team on track for this finals this weekend.
