Learning Progress

AGHS —

Q: We are worried about our tamariki/child's learning. They are having trouble keeping up or they are bored and needing extension. What do we do next?

A: Your tamariki/child may be expressing distress or frustration when attempting homework or learning in school. They might have meltdowns where school becomes a topic. Maybe they seem disengaged or dismissive of what is happening at school.

You may be curious about what you have noticed when you look at your tamariki/child's skills or knowledge.

Hopefully you have already communicated with Kaiako (teachers) about your concerns.

We can survey teacher opinion about ākonga progress.

We can discuss your concerns with you and decide next steps together with you.
