On Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday 25th November four of our students, Ava Croton, Mina Mochizuki, Laura Powley and Tatum Falck represented Avonside at the Canterbury Secondary Schools Junior Tennis Championships. The first day was one of the coldest and windiest days and the second day was started with rain and more rain forecasted so play was moved indoors.  The students all had good wins and a few losses with the Year 9 students excelling in doubles and singles. Tatum Falck is now the Year 9 Singles champion and Tatum partnered with Laura Powley won the Year 9 doubles championship. Well done to you both. The Year 10 girls did exceptionally well but a loss was enough to put them into cancelations rounds that weren’t completed due to the weather.
