Dual Enrolment

Avonside Girls' School —

This year, AGHS has over 50 ākonga undertaking a dual enrolment course outside our kura.

This means, for the whole year, they spend 3-4 days learning at AGHS and 1-2 days learning at either Ara/Te Pūkenga, National Trade Academy or Vision College. Their off-site courses include Animal Care, Horticulture, Agriculture, Equine, Hair and Beauty, Cookery/Restaurant skills, Baking, Business and Admin, Outdoor Education, Automotive, Early Childhood Development, Psychology Level 3 and Construction. Each Friday, Robyn Armstrong's aim is to visit one or more venues to see our amazing ākonga in action and develop positive relationships with them and between the providers and AGHS. For most of our ākonga, this is an opportunity to fully engage in learning that they feel passionate about and get a taste of a potential career pathway. Here is some feedback from our ākonga:
