The Subjects we offer in Te Reo Māori

LEVEL 1 (YEAR 11)

TE REO MĀORI - TRM111

This is a continuation of the Year 10 course.

The skills of Whakarongo (listening), Kōrero (speaking), Pānui (reading), Tuhituhi (writing) and Tikanga Māori are further developed. A range of topics relevant to Te Ao Māori will be studied to prepare students for future pathways.

Entry Requirements: Prior learning up to level 4 NZC recommended

Credits: up to 20 atLevel 1

LEVEL 2 (YEAR 12)

TE REO MĀORI - TRM222

The skills of Whakarongo, Kōrero, pānui and Waihanga Tūhinga. There are a range of topics relevant such as; Te reo kōrero, Te Reo o te marae, Te reo wawata and Te reo Rongonui will be studied to continue preparing students to become connected culturally and linguistically in all facets of Te Reo Māori and Te ao Māori me ōna tīkanga to prepare students for future pathways.

Entry Requirements: Prior learning up to level 6 NZC recommended

Credits: 16 at Level 2 (included 6 reading and 6 writing UE literacy credits)

This is a continuation of the TRM222 course.

The skills of Whakarongo, Kōrero, pānui and Waihanga Tūhinga. There are a range of topics relevant such as; Te reo kōrero, Te Reo o te marae, Te reo wawata and Te reo Rongonui will be studied to continue preparing students to become connected culturally and linguistically in all facets of Te Reo Māori and Te ao Māori me ōna tīkanga to prepare students for future pathways.

Entry Requirements: Prior learning up to level 7 NZC recommended

Credits: 16 at Level 3 (all UE approved)
