A message from the Principal

Andrew Hunter —

Kia ora koutou e te whanau

It is hard to believe we are 3 weeks into Term 4 already!

Our programmes are in full flight with some nice links into performing arts and creativity in both year groups. Our Project Based Learning focus continues to go from strength to strength as we see our students planning, thinking and completing some amazing projects. The recent Dunedin Hospital Rebuild project was a wonderful example of this. The variety of projects really impressed the Rebuild team, so much so that they wish to continue their association throughout the planning and design stage. Project Based Learning has been a major professional development focus for teachers and we are definitely seeing the rewards of this in the classroom. We are always looking for real-life projects and also experts who can speak to our students. If you have any ideas in this area please do let us know!

The end of the year brings lots of fun activity both in and out of the classroom. Our focus remains on our school values of Perseverance, Excellence, Respect and Kindness as we encourage a positive attitude to people and learning. Even though the end of year is fast approaching, our expectations around behaviour remains the same. We'll be continuing to share these positive messages so that we can all enjoy a happy and fun end to the year.
