Welcome

Andrew Hunter —

A very warm welcome to the new school year! We enjoyed an excellent start last week with everyone settling in well.

The start of the year is an exciting time as students  settle in to their new surroundings.

Our school values of Perseverance, Excellence, Respect and Kindness have been definitely been on show with everyone working hard to establish a lovely atmosphere in our school.

Building relationships, making friends, feeling happy and safe are key areas we address at the start of the year. Thanks to all staff and students for making our start of year so enjoyable.

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 7 February at 7.00pm for our "Meet the Teacher" evening. This evening gives an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and other parents. It's also a chance to share some important information about Balmacewen. Please meet in the hall.

We will formally welcome our new students with a mihi whakatau on Friday 15 February at 1.15pm. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.

We're here to help! The start of the year can sometimes be a case of "information overload." If there is anything that you or your child is unsure about, please contact the school office or your class teacher.

We need you! Whether it's helping a sports team, helping on a class trip or sharing your expertise, we need your support to make sure our children can make the most of their time at Balmacewen.

Thank you for being part of the Balmacewen community this year. Our teachers have put together some exciting programmes which will be both challenging and fun. My advice: get involved, embrace new challenges, have fun!

Kind Regards

Andrew Hunter
