House Leaders 2019

Rachel Smart —

The 2019 House Leaders have worked hard on developing their leadership skills over the year.

Initially we looked at how to work well as a group and identified our own strengths and weaknesses. We looked at ways to motivate and include people when running group events.

One of the first challenges we had this year was creating a House Chant. These were presented at an assembly in Term 1. We attended the National Young Leaders Day earlier in the year and spent a few sessions looking at how to work well as a team and motivate and engage team mates.

Other activities we have organised this year include a Minute-To-Win-It competition at lunch times in the winter terms, and a Tabloids Sports competition in Term 4. We also planned activities and ran the Year 6 orientation day.

Every week the House Leaders and deputies organise the gear for House Sports and lead their teams. House points from this, as well as other school wide events such as swimming sports, cross country and athletics, are totaled and the winning house receives the Clarke Cup at the final prize giving assembly.

Thank you to all the House Leaders and deputies who have done an excellent job this year. I hope you all have a fantastic holiday and I hope to see many of you continue to display your leadership qualities at your High schools next year.
