Bookclub visits the Chinese Gardens

Beth Downie —

Read some of the thoughts about visiting the Chinese Gardens

A group of students in Rm 6 have been doing book club. The book that we have been reading is called ties that bind ties that break. It was a very emotional book, and a brilliant read, it was about Chinese history and the consequences that happen if a women refuse not to have their feet bound. After we completed the book we decided that we wanted to go to the Chinese gardens. so on Wednesday last week we went the Chinese gardens it was an amazing experience, we had a scavenger hunt while we looked around. after that we had dumplings, tea and steamed buns it was amazing and I can’t wait till our next book.

This term we have been doing book club for reading. The book that we have been reading is called Ties That Bind, Ties That Break. We have been inspired by the book to go the Chinese Gardens. We had a lot of fun looking around and we drank tea and ate dumplings and steamed buns which were delicious. The staff there were great and helpful. Another fun activity that we did was a scavenger hunt where we looked for specific Chinese art works and sculptures. It really felt like we were in China. They even had a Chinese gift shop, it was so cute.

We loved the experience of going to the Chinese gardens.
