Year 8 art students have been creating exciting paintings inspired by scapes and birds that are meaningful to them.

Throughout the painting unit the students have been learning about  composition strategies and how to use them.  We have looked at a variety of New Zealand artist's paintings that feature birds and scapes.  While painting we focused on mixing new colours, creating a light source, using different techniques and ensuring our paintings have variety.  Here's the first of the finished paintings.
