I would like to welcome all parents and caregivers of Room 8 students. Here is where you will find important dates and reminders, as well as updates of what we have been working on in class.

4 Ingredients, 45 minutes and an unknown group makes for a fun last Food Tech lesson.

Last week the Balmac Room's 7, 8 and 14 Zoo was presented at our parents sharing night. The students have been working on this term's ASPIRE inquiries to create, make and present an invented creature that would survive in the habitat of their choice.

Room's 7,8,& 14 have been very busy working on our Zoo inquiries over the last few weeks. Our learning street and the art room were a hive of activity last week as we worked on the many parts of our inquiry presentations. The results of this inquiry will be on display for parents to view on Thursday 5th April from 6.30-7.30pm when the Balmac Zoo will be open!

Last Thursday, Room 7 and 8 visited the Otago Museum as part of our ongoing ‘Adaptation’ unit this term.

The students from Rooms 7, 8 & 14 have planned their pies, wrote their shopping lists and finally got to make their pies.

A huge focus this year in our syndicate is to create opportunities to create and make - giving our students the opportunity to be faced with a challenge or question and design, prototype and test solutions.

Room 8 certainly impressed Melanie Harper from the Balmacewen Golf Club during today's kiwi golf lesson.
