It's the end of Term One. A great time to rest and recharge.

This term has raced by with our Year 7 students now completing their first term as Intermediate students! It has been a challenging term for both staff and students at times and we are proud of how well we have managed to sustain quality classroom programmes and extra curricular activities.

Here's an update on our latest Covid numbers

Despite the restrictions that have come with COVID, we’ve had a great start to 2022 in the Music Room.

4 ingredients....40 minutes....1 great dish to produce....sounds like a television competition!

Our first rotation have finished their cushions and these should be proudly displayed in your homes. Their smiles say it all .We have welcomed new Year 7 classes into Fabrics and students are quickly learning the ins and outs of a busy practical space.

We have three staff members leaving us to play cricket overseas.

Keep Calm and Sew On has become a bit of a motto for our Fabrics room this term. Well done to all of our Year 8 students who have completed an outcome that they are proud of. He tino pai tō mahi!

The second group of food technologists have made it into the kitchen and have begun their day of cooking.

The years 8 students have been exploring maori waka use and construction. The year 7 students have been making picture frames and exploring maori design concepts with their key rings.

7 Teams and 7 weeks...

It may have taken a while from planning to creation but the Y8 pies were finally made.

Term 1 kicked off our 2022 series of camlab challenges. Camlab challenges test students abilities to problem solve and collaborate.

Like all the other Year 7 Classes, Room 26 have been working on a mini art PBL where we explored & developed ideas, learnt about composition, colour, tone & how to use oil pastels effectively. We used the art of New Zealander, Nigel Brown to inspire us. The parts we found most challenging to do were composition and tone.

Our writing extension group has had a fabulous start to 2022.

Life Education is pleased to announce that next term they will be visiting Balmacewen Intermediate with 2 Raw Sisters.
