It's nearly Spring and we're looking forward to warmer days ahead!

A very warm welcome to our Year 8 Whanau and Friends.

All of our Year 7 classes are well into their topic of the "H" factor term focus on Health and Wellbeing and now planning has begun for the PBL project to run alongside this.

The netball season for 2022 has come to a close with final games being played on Thursday.

The final group of the first rotation are just finishing their time in the foods room.

The Year 8 have designed and completed their pies. Some really creative ideas are out there...

After a two year break, finally the O'Mathalon was back on this year and Balmacewen teams achieved great results.

Our brief was to use our new machine sewing skills to create a functional drawstring bag!

We kicked off Maths learning in Year 7 and 8 this term with Geometric Thinking......

This term our Year 8 PBL focus is Kaitiakitanga - guardianship of our environment.

Over this term our Year 7 classes have been working on poetic writing tying this in with emotions. Here are a few of our poems. Some are modelled from the poem "If I were a Storm" by Katie Boom and the others use the senses to develop imagery around an emotion.

Over the last part of Term 2 a number of students took on the extra challenge of planning and completing a science and technology fair investigation for this year's event.

As part of our Term Three focus, all Year 7 classes went to the Anatomy Museum as an ignitor for our body unit.

The hockey season for 2022 concluded on Friday night. A big thank you to all of our players, supporters, coaches and officials for helping to make it such a great season.
