Summer poems!

Where has the Summer gone? Read the reflection poems written by Room 7 to about their Summer day memories. Check out the full display in our class and learning street.

Remember that time in the sweltering, blistering morning Patearoa heat at 7am? Remember you holding your pole waiting for a little movement like a cue for a roller coaster. I Remember you nervous until one movement set you off like a mouse trap, it was a trout 3lb! That Was Summer.

Do you remember those long walks through the tracks surrounded by tussock and old abandoned huts from the gold rush? Remember how we would act like foreign miners panning for gold? Remember seeing the waterfall drop like a torrential rainstorm? That Was Summer.

Remember when I nailed that Christmas day game winner? Remember seeing it splash through the net was the greatest noise to ever brace someone's ears? Remember seeing everyone rush over to celebrate like a flock of birds fleeing a scene? That Was Summer.

Summer Daze

Remember that time we drove for hours, being trapped in that hot and steamy car as we longed to be at our destination

Remember those tall Mountains locking the sunset away as they tower over the car and cast a shadow over everything else

Remember when you could feel that sweat drip down your neck as the Seat belt practically Strangles to you as it stretches tightly across your neck

That was Summer

Remember that time the water slowly trickled down your neck and you could feel the tension rising and the adrenaline rushing through you

Remember hearing the pitter patter from people scattering across your deck and the shrieks and screams and all the loud laughter

Remember hearing the pitter patter from people scattering across your deck and the shrieks and screams and all the loud laughter

That was Summer

Remember that time soon smiles on everyone's faces and laughter everywhere And the tears of joy rolling down everyone's faces

Remember feeling the energy of everyone filling up the room as we rip open our Christmas crackers and pieces fly everywhere ricocheting off the walls

That was Summer

Annalise Tresslor

Remember that instant feeling of regret as you got into the hot and sticky car? Remember when you woke up to the smell of freshly mown grass and the music of many insects? Remember that time you walked outside and saw the bees drifting lazily over the flowers as you closed your eyes against the warm breeze? That Was Summer

Remember when you were to slow to eat your ice cream and it dripped down your arm instead? Remember the way the sand felt as it made way for your footprints? Remember hearing your parents shout of frustration as you trailed sand through the car? That Was Summer

Remember that time your hot clammy hands clung to the soft juicy fruit? Remember when the sun beamed down on you as warm juices trickled down your arm? Remember the sweet but tangy taste of the ripe fruit in your mouth? That Was Summer
