The weather may be cooling down but that hasn't slowed the pace and energy of learning at Balmacewen.

The Perfect Pies were being created by budding chefs...

An event organised by Hatch Education to encourage girls into technology as an area to make an impact in the world.

The smells wafting out of the Foods Room were amazing.

Savoury has been on the menu for the first half of the term...

We have 9 teams preparing for Robocup. These talented students have created some amazing projects as they develop ideas for this annual competition.

Students motivated to produce good outcomes and well focused on their learning.

The last rotation of Year 7 students have started with the cushion making unit. This week and last week, the students have been learning about their chosen machine, learning the essential parts of it, learning to thread it correctly before learning how to sew and going on to sit their sewing machine driving licence.

Needle books, flowers, drawstring bags, doorstops and onto screen printing.

It is very important that all students are attending their music lessons on time.

Room 9 have been writing procedures. This tied in nicely with our creating and making through science.

We have four Balmac teams entered into the Intermediate hockey competition on a Friday night. All teams are working well together as a team and making great progress. Keep up the good work everyone. Also, a special thank you to our parent supporters, our coaches and the referees. Remember all draws are on the school website under sport, hockey.

Summerset retirement village residents were the audience to Balmacewen Intermediate Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs on Thursday the 17th of May.

Last week Room 6 students listened as Cherie talked about cerebral palsy. That is what her daughter Poppy has.

Last week we were lucky enough to have Miss Dick come and take us through a session with the Robots.
