It has been a very busy few weeks in our Year 7 classes with the main topic of conversation being around Puberty and the changes it brings!

Congratulations to our students who completed a Science or Technology Fair project and entered in the Otago Science and Technology Fair last week.

This week our last Year 7 Syndicate classes have finished in Fabrics.

The global pandemic has provided a meaningful learning opportunity for all of our students in the Fabrics room.

This is often a highlight of our Year 8 Fabrics programme.

The final group of Year 7 students have completed their first unit in Foods Technology.

This term our Year 7 classes have started the term with a Poetry creative writing unit. Here are some samples of our poems - the first "If I were a storm" based on a poem by Katie Boom, emotion poems based on the senses and the rollercoaster of emotions at puberty and some classes also completed Metaphor poems - based on Iain Sharpe's - I am. Our Year 7's have also been reading picture books during our library sessions as part of our Oral language programme.

Under a tea-towel the Year 8's find their food - the challenge is to make a yummy looking and tasting dish from the ingredients found.
