We are now fully into our Term One programme. It 's great to see the energy and enthusiasm in all school activities.

The Year 7 team have had a fantastic start to life at Balmac, read on to find out about their learning adventure. 

The first 4 weeks have been a hive of activity.  Read on to find out what has transpired. 

It has been a busy start to the year in Fabrics. 

A great start to the year.  The  Year 7 students have been positive and enthusiastic with trying out new things.  The Year 8 students are focusing on expanding their existing skills and developing new skills.

Balmacewen has nine teams competing in the Oval Junior Module this term.

Room One checked out the camp cookers and made sure everything was in working order.

This term one of our writing focuses is RECOUNTS.  We are trying to not only tell our story, but to paint a picture with our words and really entertain our reader.

Over 240 students have enrolled to learn musical instruments this year and lessons started for most students last week.

After 2 weeks, the year 7's are cooking up a storm in the Foods Room.

We have been busy these past 2 weeks. We have made Macaroni Cheese, Spaghetti Bolognaise, and started making pastry with our own Puff Pastry creating Apple Turnovers.

We are off to an exciting start in Art.  The Year 7 students have been exploring Painting Techniques.

It was great to see so many parents at our meet the teacher evening earlier this term. We would now like to make an opportunity for you to have a brief 10min interview with your child’s teacher. 

Today Room 14 went to the Aquarium to kick start out Term One Survivor unit - looking at structures and adaptations to eat and not be eaten!

Hatch Education offers opportunities to explore a range of technology supported by teachers and assistants. You can book in for after school programmes or holiday programmes.

Dunedin Public Libraries City Library is starting an afterschool book club 

This is a chance for people of all ages to meet university scientists, try some fun hands on experiments and have a chat about science. 

The learning street is completed and ready for exciting and engaging learning!
