Term 2 is done and dusted! Time to relax and recharge over the holiday break.

It has been a very busy Term for our Year 7 students - this newsletter contains a number of articles about some of the fantastic work and activities we have been involved in. Thank you to our parents and communities who continue to support our students. We now look ahead to Term Three. In Term Three the Year 7 classes move on to a Health and Wellbeing integrated theme. The "F" Factor is our catch phrase for the term which will look at - Friendship, Focus, Family, Food, Fun..... under the umbrella of thinking about what being happy and healthy is all about.

Last week was a hive of activity in the school hall with our Year 7 students hosting junior students from our local schools to our first ever Science Expo.

The final group of Year 7's have completed their time in the Foods Room for the first semester.

We ended term 2 in the Foods room with 3 exciting Mystery Box competitions

Plenty to be proud of in Textiles this term.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... This week the Year 7 classes have a session with the Educators from Otago Museum who are here at school presenting with the Star Lab.

As Term 2 draws to an end, it has been great reflecting on the variety of tools being explored during the school wide Friday FullSteamAhead sessions.

Nanni Ge is a participant in our team that got second in the EPro8 Otago finals and writes about her experience.

Room 7 have been writing some moment in time creative pieces based on the video of Diving Giraffes. Here is the link to the Video which inspired our writing!

As part of our Measurement unit in Maths Room's 5,6,25 and 25 have been working on prototyping and designing tiny homes for our end of term project - with the need to think about our eco- footprints and the about of space we take up.

Next term we will be having a celebration of the Arts performance in Week 10, September 25th at Otago Boys High School. This will include our WEARABLE Arts show and talent quest winners, plus other arts performances to link it all together.
