A very warm welcome to our Year 8 Whanau and friends.

It has been a fantastic start to Term Two. All classes have been working well to get our new topics and activities underway. In this newsletter you will see samples of our writing memoirs with our ANZAC unit, Autumn writing and an update of our new Term Two PBL project!

We are very pleased to advise that we have a counsellor starting next week!

For any Rugby League players, Otago Rugby League Development Day is taking place next Sunday, 21st May at the Sargood Centre/Logan Park (40 Logan Park Drive).

Balmacewen had two teams of 4 competing in a year 7 & 8 Ambrose golf competition held at 12 Oaks Golf Course on Friday 5th May

Our school had a visit from Emily the World Vision youth ambassador today.

One of the highlights of the year 8 term is the mystery box challenge.

On Pink Shirt Day, Friday 19th May 2023, Aotearoa will be transformed into a sea of māwhero/pink as we stand together to spread aroha, celebrate diversity and end bullying! We would like students and staff to support this important message by wearing pink on this day!

Group 2 are just about finished their rotation in the Foods Room.

With very little eggs to be found on the shelves the Y8's have been experimenting with google-inspired replacements for the eggs.
