It's hard to believe we're at the end of Term 3.

Kia Ora Parents and Caregivers, Wow! Where has the time gone? Another action packed 10 weeks has raced by.

It has been a very busy and productive term in our Year 7 classes. We have been impressed with the way our students have contributed throughout this term and the positive finish we have had to Term Three.

The term 3 Year 7 focus was health and wellbeing based on the Māori concept of Te Whare Tapawhā.

This term two Balmacewen teams competed in the 9-a-side competition held on a Tuesday at Kettle Park

This year we had 14 Balmacewen teams competing in the Dunedin Netball Centre Year 7 & 8 competition on Thursdays during Terms 2 and 3; 2 teams competing in the Primary School Champs and 1 team at the AIMS Games in Tauranga

League skills, drills & games.

On Thursday this week the Balmacewen Orchestra were joined by the Kaikorai Primary School Orchestra for a music workshop and concert.

The 3rd group of Year 8 Food Technologists have produced some amazing pies.

Group 2 have now completed their second time in the Foods room and they have been very creative with flavours.

Positive attitudes have lead to well engaged students.

On Wednesday night over 200 students took part in our Arts eXtravaganza at OBHS. The night came alive with music, dance, lights and drama as the Wearable Arts, Talent Quest finalists, dance crews , Pacific Island Dance and the amazing creations from hats, lanterns and masks took to the stage.

As part of our Year 7 PBL unit on family fun and fitness, a group of students worked on helping to plan the first ever Balmacewen Colour Run.

Last week our orders went out for our FFF Family Bags. We would like to say a huge thank you to the families who supported this business - this is the first time we have done this PBL project and there was a lot of learning along the way.
