Wrapping up Term 3...
Room 4 akōnga (learners) have been learning about the Beatitudes, Kandinsky themed art, fictional narrative and procedural writing, and started planning their Science Fair projects! Stay posted for the Learning Expo where we will showcase our Science Fair projects in term 4!
BIBLE - Our Bible theme for Weeks 6-8 was about the Beatitudes. In The Lord's Prayer, Jesus prayed "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This means that earth can reflect the loving beauty of heaven if we allow Jesus to take over our lives. We are learning to know, love and BE like Jesus. In the last weeks, George, Bevan, Aelaf, Xenia, Matthieu, Emanuel, Vesley, Lacey and Deborah presented object lessons to help us understand and remember each Beatitude.
VISUAL ARTS - Continuing on with our abstract art journey, we visited Te Tuhi in Week 7 for a workshop on 3-D collaging. We then extended our abstract tree art skills using the collaging technique to feature Kandinsky themed abstract trees.
WRITING - This term, we focused on creative narrative writing and procedural writing. Students enjoyed using their imagination to write fictional narratives using pictures prompts during our "Quick-Writes"!
