Encounter Jesus...encounter greatness!

Mrs Jordana Ryu —

Here we are at the final term of the school year! As we culminate this year of learning, we reflect on the knowledge and skills we have gained and apply them to new problems we are learning to solve. Application is not always easy, but as we seek for answers in the universe, we also search for God!

The theme for Term 4 is "Time and Space". This chart shows how this theme can be viewed through the four lenses of the Bible. Students will regularly visit these Biblical truths and questions to help them make sense of their learning this term.

Here's a snapshot of our learning in Term 4:

Bible - The Bible units covered this term are "Godly Greatness", "The Bible", and "Christmas". The first unit is an exploration of what greatness looks like from God's perspective.  Then students will learn about how the variety in the Bible helps every person to connect with God is a special way.  Finally, we conclude with our Christmas unit as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour.

For Writing, students will review their persuasive writing skills from term 2 and apply it to writing speeches for the annual BSDA speech competitions which will be held in Week 6.

Topic - We start the term off by reviewing the Scientific Method and continuing the research and experiments for their Science Fair projects.  Students have made great progress on their experiment designs, building display models and publishing their research in preparation for the Learning Expo scheduled in Week 4.  After that, we are on to exploring how time and space affect animal, plant, and earth's changes.
