Sun and Moon?
What would it be like if we didn't have the sun or the moon? Room 3 are finding out. Some people say the earth came from a Big Bang! We believe that God created our planet Earth with its sun and moon and placed it precisely and perfectly where it is now.
The Room 3 Transformers reject the idea that there was a big bang and that the world and all that is in it evolved from that. "What! "No!" "I didn't come from a monkey!"
We prefer Gods story. We believe that God created us in His image. He blessed us with an amazing mind that no computer can ever match. Our bodies were created to move purposefully with emotions as no machine can ever match. We have been gifted with numerous and valuable abilities to engage with our Creator to explore and discover the world He made for us.
We are curious about many things around us. "What! how does that happen?" or "Why does it do that?" "Wow!" It is great to hear and see the students engage, test, experience and discover answers to their questions. Learning.
Creation is the most enjoyable part of any lesson. After learning about the Sun and Moon and their effects on Earth, Room 3 are enjoying creating models of their own planets. So much fun! A lot of cutting, gluing, painting, modifying, problem solving, collaboration, encouragement...noise. Boxes, containers, bits and pieces everywhere. Learning! We are in the best place.
Bricks for Kids gave us an opportunity to create with Lego a Basketball hoop and a gadget to shoot the ball into the hoop. In the end our class had a tournament and a final playoff for the team who could score the highest. This was a great activity.
Health week is cool. We get to enjoy healthy activities like Jump Jam most of the week. Healthy eating is discussed at Recess and Lunch times with show and tell about what is in our lunch boxes. Thank you Parents for making our students healthy lunches and encouraging them to drink water.
We look forward to our swimming lessons every Thursday. We love the lessons and the free time in the pool and on the big, fun slide. Our confidence to be underwater without breathing has improved greatly. Learning to float and tread water is helping us feel safer in deeper water. Swimming is a lot of fun.
Thank you always to our amazing parents for the support and love for our students. God bless you all.
