Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) Regional Final

Bayfield High School —

Young Enterprises challenges teams of Year 12 and 13 students to create a “product” and take it to market over the course of the year.

Young Enterprise is focused on developing young people to be enterprising, innovative, and work-ready. The Otago Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) supports business start-up and management for Year 12 and 13 students whilst they are still at school. Students present their idea at a pitch day with the winning group progressing to nationals. The scheme engages members of the local business community to provide an experience that is authentic and relevant to the world we live in.

The Young Enterprise Otago Regional Awards were held on Wednesday night and we had a very successful evening.

Abloom Tea (Bub and Tanmeet Madan) – are the new Otago region champions and will have the opportunity to compete in the nationals in December.

Indigo (Ethan Unsworth and Gemma Green) – won the regional Innovation Award.

Purei (Izaac Foster and Imogen Johnston) – won the regional Rangatahi Entrepreneurs Award.

There is an article in the ODT today about Bub and Tanmeet and their Abloom tea.
